Catcat - Laochai - Tavan - Giangtachai
(2 Days - 3 Nights)

Night 1: Hanoi – Sapa

20h45: Transfer to Hanoi railways station for the night train at 22.00 hrs for Lao Cai in the Vietnamese northern highlands adjoining the Chinese border. Enjoy your sleeper berths on your overnight journey to Lao Cai (4 soft berth cabin).

Day 1: Sapa – Catcat

Am: 06:00: Upon arrival in Lao Cai, transfer another 38km on coach to Sapa. Enjoy the picturesque scenery along the way leading towards Sapa, a mountainous area of stunning natural beauty and diverse ethnic minorities. Check in hotel. Breakfast at the hotel. Free for visiting ethnic market, Sapa town. Trek to Catcat village (6-7km) to see H’mong people, the French-built power-plant by the beautiful big Catcat waterfall, boasting breath-taking scenery. Overnight in hotel.

Meals: Breakfast/ Lunch/ Dinner

Day 2: Laochai – Tavan – Giangtachai

Full day trekking (10 -15km) to some villages: Laochai, Tavan, Giangtachai, whose surroundings are beautiful, to see some ethnic minorities: H’mong, Dzay, Red Dzao wearing different colorful costumes and speaking different dialects. Back to the hotel by jeep or motorbike and take the bus to LaoCai station to catch the train at 20h30 to Ha Noi.

(3 Days - 4 Nights)

Night 1: Hanoi – Sapa

Day 3: Sapa – Bacha – Hanoi

AM: A bus transfer to Bacha (3 hours). Visit Bacha market (on Sunday morning only), a real attraction in this hinterland. The market visiting is followed by a short trek (6km) around Banpho village inhabited by the flower-Meo, to which magnificent views is worth being given.
PM: Take a bus back to Laocai-station for the 8h50 train to Hanoi, arriving in hanoi at 5:00 am the coming day.

AM: 08:00: Trek (7-12km) to a big village located in a great green valley to explore the lives of the Red Dzao, H’mong, being hard-working and having been keeping their ways of making handicrafts, forging cast iron tool… Admire breath-taking surroundings when taking the “ Dragonlike” to Taphin cave, used to be the Red Dzao’s house, passing the French-built priority…
PM: Discover the town and Dragon mountain on your own.16h00: Take a bus to Laocai R-station for 20h50 train to Hanoi, arriving at 5.00am the coming day.
