BacHa - a small town built on a desolated highland plain NorthWest of Lao Cai, is well-known for the century-old colorful market of the real mountainous people including the Dzao and the Flower-H’Mong. They and the mountains seem to fall in a sleep and time stands still until Sunday mornings when the Bac Ha market occurs.

Night 1: Hanoi - Sapa
20h45: Transfer to Hanoi railways station for the night train to Lao Cai at 22.00 hrs. Overnight on train (4 soft berth cabin).
Day 1: Sapa - Catcat
AM: 07:30: Arrive in Laocai. Take a bus to Sapa going on a zigzagging 28km pass with great views. Check in hotel. Free for visiting ethnic market, Sapa town.
PM: Trek to Catcat village (7 km) to see H’mong people, the French-built power-plant by the beautiful big Catcat waterfall, boasting breath-taking scenery. Overnight in hotel.

Day 2 :Laochai - Tavan - Giangtachai
Full day trekking (12-15km) to some villages: Laochai, Tavan, Giangtachai. Spectacular scenery is always in view. A chance of integrating into ethnic peoples’live is definitely possible: meeting Dzay, Red Dzao in working and at leisure. Jeep back to hotel. Overnight in hotel. Meals: Breakfast/ Lunch/ Dinne
Day 3: Sapa - Cancau – Bacha
AM:Take a jeep to the beautiful, bustling Cancau market, which is some 20 km from Bacha. Foreigners find the locals make no banana pancakes. Nice, unspoilt villages appearing in verdant big valleys are sometimes where travelers’ stops are.
PM: After lunch, trek (7-12 km) to some villages around Bacha … Beautiful scenery is not all, offering good chances of integrating into the real life of different peoples: Tay, H’mong … Overnight in hotel in Bacha.

Day 4: Bacha - Hanoi
AM: Visit Bacha market (on Sunday morning only), a real attraction in this hinterland. The market visiting is followed by a short trek (6km) around Banpho village inhabited by the flower H’Mong, to which magnificent views is worth being given.
PM: Take a bus back to Laocai R-station for the 20.50 train to Hanoi, arriving in Hanoi at 05.00am the coming day.
